RdV Vineyard's 16 acres of vines are located on a steep, stony hillside in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, roughly 60 miles west of Washington, DC. Our land is divided into 11 parcels dedicated to growing Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. We focus on doing one thing extraordinarily well—creating world-class Bordeaux-style blends.
For two years, we cleared the forest and moved the earth, uncovering a vast expanse of granite—the perfect foundation for our vineyard. Renowned experts from the US and France, as well as years of our own research and experience guided us in understanding how to coax the best out of our unique terroir. We meticulously cultivate our 30,000 plants by hand, and practice sustainable viticulture that allows us to work in harmony with the land. The results are irrefutable. We create wines that are, and have been from the very first harvest, astonishing in their complexity and finesse.
